We saved you a seat.
It’s a quiet invitation, and a bold statement. Because talking openly about periods shouldn’t feel radical. But for so many of us, it still does.
At Hey Zomi, we’re on a mission to change that. Our newest video - launched during Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Month - brings together three generations of women to do something simple, powerful, and long overdue: talk.
But this isn’t just a story about one family. It’s about all of us. 💛
Because no matter who you are, chances are you’ve been touched by the silence surrounding periods. Maybe you felt ashamed of your body growing up. Maybe you never got the full story. Maybe you’re raising a child now, and wondering how to do it differently.
For something as common and natural as menstruation, the level of secrecy, stigma, and misinformation is staggering. In fact, over half of teens feel uncomfortable discussing their period, and 70% wish it was talked about more openly in school and at home.
Silence doesn’t protect anyone. It isolates. It confuses. It can even hide serious health concerns.
That’s why we created this video. Not just to tell a story, but to spark a conversation, one that includes everyone.
Because period care isn't just a "women's issue." It’s a human issue. It affects families, workplaces, schools, relationships. It shapes how people understand their bodies — and their worth.
And the way we talk about periods today? It will shape how the next generation feels tomorrow.
At Hey Zomi, we believe in a world where menstrual health is treated with respect, honesty, and care. Where nobody feels embarrassed asking a question. Where young people grow up seeing their bodies as strong, not shameful. Where support is the norm, not the exception.
So if you’ve ever felt confused, scared, or silenced when it comes to your period, or someone else’s, this is your invitation.
Pull up a chair. There’s a seat for you here.
Because we’ve all got a story. And it’s time we started sharing them.
