Converted Sceptic

Honestly, I was super sceptical - never tried a cup or disc before, and tampons were never really my thing. Kept seeing the ads and thought, “alright, let’s give it a crack.” Took a bit to get the hang of the whole insert/remove situation, but once I did? Game changer. The little handle is genius - makes it way less awkward to get out. Didn’t think I’d ever recommend a period product, but here we are. Highly recommend!

Okay but not great if you have POP

I admit I was doubtful that the Zomi disc could work for me before I gave it a go. I’d been a cup user for 8 or so years and had never had any worries with it. In fact, it was totally life changing for me and made dealing with periods 1000x easier not having to worry about remembering tampons or stressing about leaks or all that. But then after the birth of my second child, I experienced a mild bladder prolapse and I had try out different period products again. I was scared to use my cup due to the suction so I tried period undies but I hated the damp sensation and the feeling of something leaking from me. I eventually gave my cup a go but then it felt like it sat really low and I had an experience where it felt like it was about to fall out of me (a horrible feeling!).
I wasn’t convinced that a disc would work because I didn’t trust it would sit correctly behind my pubic bone. Thanks to my POP, I now wear a ring pessary every day and that never stays put behind my pubic bone (as it should). But after running out of other options, I decided to finally give the disc a go.
I won’t lie, the first week I used the disc I was really disappointed and was convinced I would send it back. On my heavier days I had endless gushes onto my underwear and the disc didn’t seem to be doing anything. No matter how hard I tried, it just wouldn’t sit right behind my pubic bone. I was about ready to give up when I had a night of no bleeding and then went to remove the disc in the morning and then I was surprised to have blood spray everywhere. So, aside from the mess, I finally had some success with the disc. Since then, I’ve seen some more luck, along with lots of leaks. I think I’m getting better at positioning it. I can get through hours at work with no leaks but then after going to the toilet, it moves out of place and then and as I walk back to the office I get a huge gush as the disc empties into my underwear. Needless to say, I have to use backup with the disc. There’s absolutely no way I would risk relying only on the disc. Not now. But I’m hopeful that my POP symptoms will improve over time and the disc will work better for me in the future. But I think, despite the leaks, it’s still worth keeping for now.
For other women with POP, maybe this will work or maybe not. Or maybe like me, it will sometimes work. I still think it’s worth trying out because you can always send it back. Unfortunately, it’s not the game changer I was hoping for but it’s making me a little more comfortable during my period so I guess that’s a win.

Way more comfy than cups

I've been using menstrual cups for years and omg Hey Zomi disc is so much more comfortable. No more weird pressure and suction. Never going back.

Where has this been all my life?!

I've always had super heavy periods and usually leak at one point or another every month. I thought this product was too good to be true at first, but after a couple of tries to get the placement right, my mind is blown! I love that I don't need to wear pads anymore and that I'm reducing period-related waste!

110% Recommend

I have, unfortunately, a plethora of endocrine and menstrual conditions which has left my body pretty wrecked, particularly sensitive to menstrual products and bleeding to some extent pretty much everyday. I cannot use tampons or period cups, and often have to consistently wear overnight/post-partum/extremely heavy pads which honestly feel like nappies and don’t make a gal feel quite like herself. I also would use period undies which helped but there are only so many period undies you can buy before your whole drawer is overtaken by them and you’re still changing them every few hours. On a whim, pure instinctual gut move (and some encouragement from my very supportive partner), I purchased the menstrual disc (full price) from Woolworths. Holy moly, I have not regretted it once. The freedom it has given me has been incredible. While I still have some discomfort using it (not to do with the product itself) it is, by leaps and bounds, better than ANY product I have tried and used in the past. If you’re considering it, do it. The peace of mind that comes with it is priceless and it is so user friendly, even for someone who has struggled so much in the past.
A huge thank you to the team for giving me my quality of life back, this product is incredible.

Love this product! Ive used diva cup for years but never really liked them, always leaking and never fit right, and actually hurt. The Zomi is so much better. So easy to use, fits comfortably and no leaking!! 11/10 recommend.
