I am a LONG TIME user of menstrual cups and menstrual discs. I started using a rubber menstrual cup in the late 90s- 25 years ago. So i am a very experienced user of these kinds of devices.
Menstrual cups were very effective for me, but the applicator sticks always gave me a lot of discomfort- even fully removed. I also eventually started worrying about stories of the suction and uterine prolapse.
I tried a menstrual disc in 2012 (not Hey Zomi). It was so much more comfortable, i wasn't even aware i was wearing it...but it leaked. No matter what i tried- and the manufacturers were very helpful- it leaked. We agreed the disc just didn't work for my anatomy. I bought period undies and always wore them with that disc.
I recently needed a new disc, and i'd seen Hey Zomi on Facebook, so i decided to give it a try. The shape is different from my previous disc, not as wide, so i was hopeful i might have a better experience.
Roll around this month's periods. As soon as i inserted the cup, it just fit so much better, just popped into place and stayed still.
I am now Day 4 of wearing it, and everytime i go to the bathroom, i am thrilled and amazed that there are NO LEAKS. Not a single drop. I don't even think period undies are necessary for me anymore!!! I am so, so happy. It's almost a shame i'm of perimenopausal age. 😆 Thank you thank you thank you, Hey Zomi!
Moral of the story- if you've tried other menstrual devices and haven't had a satisfactory experience, don't give up. Hey Zomi could be the gamechanger it is for me.
PS. I love the applicator ring, and i love that the cup is black so it stays looking presentable!
